Today's Word: Are You Married?
Marriage is more than a ceremony — it is a covenant. Before you say 'I do,' God wants to know if you truly understand what you are committing to. This word is for the single, the engaged, and the already married.
Are You Married?
It sounds like a simple question. But when God asks it, He is not asking about your relationship status — He is asking about your commitment level.
Are you married to the vision He gave you? Are you married to the process, the promise, the person He placed in your life? Or are you still dating your destiny — showing up when it is convenient and disappearing when it gets hard?
"Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate." — Mark 10:9
The Word for Today
Watch this message. Whether you are single, engaged, or already married — this word is for you. God has something to say about covenant, commitment, and what it truly means to be joined to something greater than yourself.
What Marriage Really Is
The world has reduced marriage to a feeling. When the feeling fades, people walk away. But God designed marriage as a covenant — not a contract. A contract says "I will perform as long as you perform." A covenant says "I am in this regardless of what comes."
That is the kind of love God has for you. And it is the kind of love He calls you to walk in — with your spouse, with your calling, and with Him.
Three Things God Wants You to Know About Marriage
1. It starts with your relationship with Him. You cannot give what you do not have. Before you can love a spouse the way God intended, you have to be rooted in the love of God yourself. The healthiest marriages are built by two people who are individually whole — not two broken people trying to complete each other.
2. It requires daily decision, not just a one-time vow. The ceremony is one day. The marriage is every day after. Love is not just a feeling you fall into — it is a choice you make every morning. You choose patience. You choose forgiveness. You choose to stay when leaving feels easier.
3. It is a ministry. Your marriage is not just for you. It is a testimony. When the world sees a couple that prays together, fights for each other, and refuses to quit — it preaches a sermon that no pulpit can match. Your covenant is a witness.
A Word for the Single
If you are single and waiting — do not rush the process. God is not slow; He is strategic. He is building you into the person your future spouse needs. Use this season to become, not just to wait. The right person will not complete you — they will complement the complete version of you that God is developing right now.
A Word for the Married
If you are already married — this is your reminder. The enemy's greatest assignment against your life may be against your marriage. Fight for it. Pray over it. Speak life into your spouse even when they frustrate you. The covenant you made before God is worth protecting.
A Prayer
Lord, I thank You for the gift of covenant. Whether I am single, engaged, or married — I ask You to align my heart with Your design for love and commitment. Teach me to love the way You love: unconditionally, sacrificially, and faithfully. Protect every God-ordained relationship in my life. And let my love story be a testimony of Your goodness. Amen.
If this word spoke to you, share it with someone who needs a reminder of what God says about love and commitment. Real love is a covenant — and it is worth fighting for.
