Closer Than You Think

He is nearer than the news. Nearer than the noise. Nearer than the fear.

We live in a world that demands your eyes. Every screen, every headline, every trending moment is pulling your attention toward something visible — something you can touch, measure, scroll past, or argue about. And in the middle of all of that noise, the enemy's greatest trick is getting you to trust what you can see over what God has already said.

But I want to talk to you today about something the Spirit has been pressing on my heart: Jesus is much closer than you think.

Nothing Is What It Looks Like

Scripture warned us about this moment. Not in vague, poetic language — in plain, specific terms.

"For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them." — 1 Thessalonians 5:3

Look around. Peace is being packaged and sold. Safety is being promised by systems that cannot save. Everything that presents itself as stable is shifting. Everything that presents itself as truth is being exposed. The things we built our comfort on — institutions, economies, social structures, even some churches — are revealing their foundations.

And yet, in the middle of all of it, people are putting more faith in what they can see than in the One who created sight itself.

That is the deception. The visible world is the most unreliable narrator there is.

What Revelation Is Actually Saying

I'm not here to preach fear. I never will. But I am here to preach awareness — because the Book of Revelation is not a horror story. It is a love letter written to a people who needed to know that God is still on the throne when everything around them looks like it's falling apart.

The seals, the signs, the shaking — none of it is meant to terrify the believer. It is meant to wake up the believer.

"And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh." — Luke 21:28

Jesus didn't say look down in fear. He said look up. Because the very things that look like the end of the world are actually the signal that your King is on His way.

The chaos is not evidence that God has left. It is evidence that the timeline is moving exactly as He said it would.

The Danger of Visible Faith

Here is what grieves me most right now: we are a generation that has been trained to believe what we can see, verify, screenshot, and share. And that training is spiritually dangerous.

"For we walk by faith, not by sight." — 2 Corinthians 5:7

Faith, by definition, is not based on what is visible. It is the substance of things hoped for — the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1). The moment you start requiring visible proof before you trust God, you have already stepped outside of faith and into the very deception the enemy designed for this season.

Everything fake looks real right now. Everything real looks invisible. That is not an accident. That is a spiritual strategy — and the only counter to it is a deep, rooted, unshakeable knowledge of the Word.

Study the Scripture. Look Around. Connect the Dots.

I want to challenge you to do something this week. Open your Bible to Matthew 24. Read it slowly. Then close your Bible and look at the world — not through the lens of a news channel or a social media feed, but through the lens of what Jesus actually said would happen.

You will see it. You will feel it. The alignment is undeniable.

Wars and rumors of wars. Nation rising against nation. Famines. Pestilences. Earthquakes in diverse places. Deception so sophisticated that, if it were possible, it would deceive even the elect.

We are not approaching that season. We are in it.

And that means Jesus is not far away. He is not delayed. He is not distracted. He is closer than you think — and the very world that looks like it's spinning out of control is actually spinning toward His return.

Don't Let the Fake World Steal Your Peace

The enemy wants you anxious. He wants you scrolling at 2am trying to make sense of things that only make sense through scripture. He wants you putting your trust in visible things — politicians, platforms, personalities — because he knows that anything visible can be manipulated.

But you have access to something no algorithm can touch. You have the Word of God. You have the Holy Spirit. You have direct access to the One who already saw the end from the beginning and called it good.

"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." — John 14:27

That peace is not passive. It is not ignorance. It is the active, intentional decision to anchor yourself in what is eternal rather than what is temporary — to trust the invisible God over the visible world.

He Is Coming

I want to close with this: the signs are not meant to scare you. They are meant to prepare you. Every shaking, every exposure, every thing that is being revealed for what it truly is — it is all part of a divine unfolding that has been written since before the foundation of the world.

Jesus is closer than the headlines. Closer than the fear. Closer than the confusion.

He is at the door.

So study your scripture. Lift your head. Quiet the noise long enough to hear the Spirit. And when the world tells you to panic — remember that your redemption is not in question. It is not in jeopardy. It is drawing nigh.

He is closer than you think.
